Relevant ExperienceInternship: Anasazi Heritage Center, Bureau of Land Management (Summer 2001) Four Corners region, Colorado. Organize, catalog into ARGUS, and properly package several contract archaeological collections. Assist in collections management activities. General curation activities.
Internship: Archaeological digs (WCU--summers of 1999 and 2000) Assisting in archaeological survey, set-up, surface collection, excavation, retrieval of artifacts, preservation of cultural heritage sites, interpretation of archaeological data, and logistics management.
Tutor of Anthropology (2000-2001 WCU)
Geology Research Assistant (1998-1999 WCU) Topographic map interpretation, training in plenometer usage, and data collection.
Geology Lab Teaching Assistant (1999-2000 WCU) Assisting professor with in-class labs logistically, and helping students with questions. Field collection of geologic data, including survey techniques, mineral and rock collections, topographic map data collection, seismograph implementation/interpretation, and hydrologic data.
Outward Bound (1998)
Onshore/Offshore Explorations (1997 Cultural Experience) A program similar to Outward Bound. Traveled to the Navaho and Hopi reservations and stayed with a Hopi family on the third Mesa. I performed community service on both reservations. Visited cultural sites with a Navajo anthropologist, and attended a sweat-lodge ceremony on the Navajo reservation. Visited the Havasu reservation and met some of the Supai people and attended a peach festival.
